Two Thousand Sixteen: The Year That Was

“I’ve been more than a little preoccupied lately.”

This is actually a gross understatement.

I’ve been attending a very lovable, tiny person as her appearance changes the dynamics of my marriage and home life in general. Tiny person, major influence(s) and chain reactions.

Overall, I feel as though I’ve held my head down and when I looked up, 2016 was gone. And while there were times when it seemed time crawled, I know that was due my own anxiety and impatience with what was going on with me personally.

Nonetheless, the year is at its end and we are all blessed to say say we are still here. There was so many losses,  and however fortunate I have been to have not experienced it first hand, the fingers have touched some of those I care for, and the effects felt.

In retrospect, the past year has been one of eye opening experiences. My family of 2 became 3. This was my entire year. Slow and quiet, going out with a bang.

As I look forward to 2017, I know it’ll be an interesting adjustment in more ways than one. I welcome a new chapter with open arms. See you there! 💋
